2025 NJY Camps Wrapped

One Camp One Heart
In April, NJY hosted a fabulous fundraiser at the Safra Center in NYC honoring Jen Mamlet, Henry Skier, Steve Seiden, and Steve Reiner raising money for scholarship, Israel programs, and Round Lake Inclusion program.

Beit Shmariahu
Camp Nesher is thrilled to announce our new Beit Knesset: Beit Shmariahu. Dedicated in loving memory of Shmariahu Dagan z’l, thanks to a lead gift by his son Amitai. Camp Nesher is actively raising funds to complete this project in 2027.

Leil Nate
Each summer Camp Nesher hosts Leil Nate (evening of Nate) in memory of Nathaniel Cohen z’l, a camp-wide competition of song and dance. This year’s Leil Nate honored the songs of Jeff Braverman.

Tucker Lakeside Rec
In July, we celebrated the opening of the Tucker Lakeside Rec building at Camp Nah-Jee-Wah. Bruce Tucker dedicated this new building, used primarily for performing arts, in loving memory of his parents Miriam and Herb Tucker, of blessed memory.

Omer Shem Tov
We were thrilled to see the hostages come home especially our alumni, Liri Albag and Sagui Dekel-Chen. All of our camp communities had the opportunity to hear inspiring stories of the hostages including a special visit by Omer Shem Tov to Camp Nesher and an extraordinary replication of Kikar Hatufim (Hostage Square) at Cedar Lake Camp.

Inclusive Travel
This year, eight campers from our Round Lake inclusion program joined the Teen Camp trip to Alaska and Hawaii! They had an unforgettable experience, marking our third consecutive year of inclusive travel. In 2026, we’re excited to send our campers on another amazing Teen Camp adventure to the West Coast!

Jeff’s Final Summer
Jeff Braverman, Camp Nesher’s co-founder, wrapped up an incredible run in his last summer. While Jeff will no longer be Nesher’s Director, he is staying on as a member of the NJY Development Team, while we actively fundraise for Camp Nesher’s capital projects.

Machane Am Echad
Together with the Jewish Agency for Israel, NJY Camps hosted 95 campers and staff from Israel as part of our Machane Am Echad effort to bring Israeli children deeply impacted by the war on a special scholarship program.

Nesher’s 30th Anniversary
Camp Nesher celebrated its 30th anniversary, and the retirement of its Director, Jeff Braverman, at a lovely event in November attended by almost 300 alumni, staff, and friends of Camp.

Year Round Team Grows
NJY welcomed several new members to our team: Kelsey Kilduff (Assistant Director, CLC), Steph Ford (Program Coordinator, NJY), Avie Bertaccini. (Development Coordinator, NJY) and Liana Kahn (Office Administrator, Nesher). We will have more exciting updates to follow!
