From Our Families

“The gluten free items were absolutely delicious! Max loved the chefs who built a personal relationship with him and found the food delicious and of great variety! His friends that were not gluten free were envious”.

Danielle Ross, March 2017

“Our son has enjoyed the entire gluten-free menu, and the large variety of choices! Thank you, NJY! “

“As a mom of a daughter with Celiac, having the gluten free program available at the NJY camps has been incredible. To know that your child will be safe, in regards to what she eats, truly puts my mind at ease. In addition to the gluten free meals, our daughter has enjoyed and participated in the gluten free cooking class activity each summer. She loves being able to bake or cook with friends and know that she is safe. The sense of normalcy and the comfort that the camp brings in helping the GF kids not feel different is also something to be noted. Food plays such a big role in socializing and for those with celiac, and also those with allergies, this can be a huge stress. Thankfully, at camp, this almost becomes a non issue. In fact, rumor has it that the GF food is so good, that the non GF kids want in on the food! Thank you for creating this program, and for doing it with such attention to detail. You have thought of the whole picture, and recognize that gluten free living is not just about the meals in the dining room. I truly appreciate the efforts of the NJY Camps!!”

NJY Camp….. Great gluten free food, good times and where forever friends
(that suffer from Celiac disease as well) are made!

McKinney Family, Lebanon, CT, June 2016

During the weekend, I asked my daughter (Bailey): “What do you think? Do you want to come back next year?”   She paused for a long time, and then replied “No. I want to come back for the next FIFTY years!”  We were delighted by our time there. It was so great for my daughter to be free to participate in EVERYTHING that the other kids were doing and eating, without any concern for her well-being and safety.

“We had an AMAZING time and will definitely be back next year.”

Michele Kogan, June 2015

“We have been to the NJY Camps GFweekend and loved it.
Now my kids participate in the camp program every summer.
Incredible programming that includes athletics, arts, adventure with
ropes courses and boating, music and science too. The icing on
the cake is the immaculate kosher and certified GF kichen!
All meals, snacks, treats are GF and yummy! Jack gets on the bus with
his skateboard, but we don’t pack any food! This is his home away from
home! NJY has been a big part of our life. As a mom of a child with Celiac
and a camp professional, I can honestly say this place is a “slam dunk”!”

Barrie Diamond Saias,  May, 2015

“Thank you for donating supplies for my Bat Mitzvah Project “Gluten Free With Me” project. We helped so many newly diagnosed children. The gluten free bags  came out great and I couldn´t have done it without your support.”

Thank you -Lexi, February, 2015

“We had the best weekend!! Relaxing and so fun. My kids
are telling all their friends they should go.

Can’t wait to come back–hopefully another family weekend
in August -and Amanda plans to go to 1st step also!

Thanks again for an affordable fun vacation for the whole family!

Maureen Damon, June 10, 2014

” It truly was a memorable weekend for myself, David, and
Kaitlyn.  We felt like part of the family there. All the counselors
were wonderful, and the activities were super fun. We cannot
wait till next year to come back. especially enjoyed yoga on
the beach, and the giantswing and zip line! We miss camp
already. The best part was having delicious GF food to eat!

Thank you, until next year.

As a pediatrician and mom of 3 kids with celiac disease, the safety of a gluten-free kitchen at NJY Camps made our decision a no-brainer.  What I didn’t realize was what a blast my kids would have going there!  They are counting the days until they can return.”
